Import your eBay listings

2 columnsUp to 50,000 rowsAbout 4 min read

Already selling on eBay with another tool? You don’t need to list anything again. Export your listings, keep two columns — the eBay Item ID and the ASIN — and upload the file. AslDrop links every listing to its Amazon product and starts tracking it.

Before you start

Check these three things first, so every row links on the first try.

  • Your eBay store is connected and its listings have loaded. Listings you made outside AslDrop appear by themselves on the Listings page, under the Unknown Listings filter. If you connected the store just now, give it a little time.
  • Your plan has room for them. Every listing you link counts toward your plan’s active listings, so pick a plan that fits the whole file. See Pricing.
  • Your pricing rules are set. Once a listing is linked, its eBay price follows your pricing rules in Settings, just like a listing you created in AslDrop.

Get your listings as a file

You need one row per listing, with its eBay Item ID and the ASIN of the Amazon product it comes from. There are two usual places to get that.

From the tool you used before

Most listing tools have an export or download button on their products or listings page. The file usually has many columns. Find the two you need: the eBay number is often called Item ID, eBay ID or Target ID, and the Amazon code ASIN, Source ID or Product ID.

From eBay Seller Hub

In Seller Hub, open Reports → Downloads, create a report of your active listings and download it as CSV. The Item number column is your eBay Item ID. eBay’s report has no ASIN column of its own, so this only works if you saved the ASIN on each listing — usually as the Custom label (SKU).

The eBay Item ID is the number at the end of the listing’s link: ebay.com/itm/222136387160.

Keep two columns

Open the file in Google Sheets or Excel and delete every column except the eBay Item ID and the ASIN. Then put them in this order:

  • Column A — eBay Item ID. Numbers only, usually 12 digits.
  • Column B — ASIN. 10 letters and numbers, like B09L6BQ3H5.
  • One listing per row, and each eBay Item ID only once. A heading row at the top is fine; it’s skipped.

Save it as CSV

Google Sheets

File → Download → Comma Separated Values (.csv).

Excel

File → Save As, choose CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) as the file type, and save. Excel set to some languages saves CSV with semicolons instead of commas — that works too.

Watch out for long numbers in Excel. Excel can show an Item ID as 2.22136E+11. Saved like that, the number is lost and the row is skipped. Before you save, select column A, choose Format Cells → Number, set decimal places to 0, and check the full numbers are back.

No file? You can also copy the two columns straight from your sheet and paste them into the box on the Import page.

Upload it to AslDrop

  1. Sign in to AslDrop and open List Items → Import.
  2. Have more than one store? Pick the store these listings belong to from the store menu at the top first. Each file goes to one store.
  3. Leave Source market on amazon.com.
  4. Tick Upload CSV file, click Choose File and pick your file.
  5. Press Submit.
The Import page after a file went through.

One file can have up to 50,000 rows and be up to 10 MB. Bigger than that? Split it into several files and upload them one after another.

After you upload

Linking itself takes moments, and the page tells you how many rows were linked and how many were skipped. Photos, titles and prices keep filling in after that, even if you leave the page.

  • Linked listings leave the Unknown Listings filter and show with the rest of your listings.
  • From then on each one is rechecked for price and stock, day and night, like a listing you made in AslDrop.
  • Sending the same file again is safe. Rows that are already linked aren’t repeated.

If a row is skipped

When a row can’t be linked, it’s listed under rows skipped with the reason. The usual ones:

… is not an eBay Item IDColumn A holds something else, or Excel turned the number into 2.22136E+11. Fix the column and save again.
… is not an ASINColumn B holds a SKU, a link or nothing. Put the 10-character ASIN there.
